## How to Complete Your Heartsaver® Direct Certification
Completing your American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver® Direct certification is simple and flexible. The course consists of two required phases.
### Phase 1 – Complete the Online Learning
Using the unique course key code provided with your registration, log into the AHA eLearning portal and complete the self-paced online course.
The online training includes:
* Interactive video instruction * Knowledge checks and learning activities * CPR, AED, and First Aid education * A final online assessment
Once you successfully complete the online course, you will receive a completion certificate. Save or print this certificate—you will need it for your hands-on appointment.
### Phase 2 – Complete the Hands-On Skills Session
Schedule your appointment and visit our automated Heartsaver® Direct simulation station.
At your appointment you will:
* Log into the training station. * Verify your online course completion. * Perform Adult CPR skills on the feedback-enabled manikin. * Demonstrate proper AED pad placement and AED use. * Complete any additional required skills based on your selected course.
The computerized simulation station provides real-time feedback and evaluates your compression depth, rate, recoil, ventilation (when applicable), and overall performance according to American Heart Association standards.
### Receive Your AHA eCard
After successfully completing both the online learning and hands-on skills evaluation, your course completion is verified.
Your official **American Heart Association Heartsaver® eCard**, valid for **two years**, will be issued electronically and sent to the email address used during registration.
This certification is accepted by employers requiring American Heart Association Heartsaver® CPR, AED, and First Aid training for workplace compliance.
